This pregnancy week started on New Years. We’re in baby girl’s birth year!!!! Bennett is still battling a cold (and he was so kind as to share it with me) so we spent lots of couch time early this week.
Thankfully it was a short work week so we could all ease back into our usual day-to-day. Saturday Bennett and Jimmy had their usual “Dada Bennett day” starting with Chick-fil-a and ending at the playground. I love these quiet mornings!
Sunday, was a day y’all. Bennett woke up at 5:30 am having peed through his diaper leaving his bed wet. So naturally, his solution was to rip a hole in his diaper so he could pee on the carpet in front of his door. After that adventure he was SUPER cranky, clingy, and kept grabbing his ear. I was convinced he was getting his first ear infection. After a dose of children’s Tylenol and three naps (one with mama, one cat nap on mama, and then a super long nap with dada) he started feeling better. The next day, he was good to go. Wish I had an immune system like that.
After a recovery Monday – laundry, cleaning, groceries, you know, back to normal life, it was truly back to real life with Bennett’s first day of preschool post winter break. I used the day to go to Costo and stock up for my freezer meal prep.
Before B, we didn’t make any freezer meals. We had amazing friends and family who brought stuff over regularly and helped with baby Bennett. Aka, we were completely spoiled. Now, being far from our close friends and all family, we need to be prepared to survive solo. So, we got a stand up garage freezer – it’s taller than I am – and I pinned a bunch of freezer crockpot and casserole meals.
Questionnaire:
How far along? 33 Weeks
How big is baby? 17.2″ & 4.19 lbs; as big as celery
Weight gain: +24-25 lbs – well that was my goal for weight gain since it’s the lowest recommended weight gain, but I am proud that I’m 12 lbs less than I was with Bennett at this stage. Being third trimester “over it” pregnant during Christmas with all the yummy food and treats is tough y’all
Maternity clothes? Yes
Sleep: I wake up usually 4-5 times a night to pee. I also have pregnancy insomnia so sometimes frequently all the time, I cannot stop worrying about anything and everything baby related.
Best moment this week: having our house back to just our little family so we can get back into our routine. Although, it was so great to have everyone here so it’s bittersweet
Movement: She’s getting the hiccups a lot recently. Cute. Not as many painful jabs. More waves of dancing and wiggles
Food Cravings: chocolate; date cereal
Food Aversions: none
Gender: Baby’s a girl!
Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks for sure
Pregnancy Symptoms: the above mentioned insomnia; not being able to get comfortable anywhere ever; nesting – I got the carseat ready at 10 pm Sunday night – not the time for that mess
Belly Button in or out? out
What I miss: multiple cups of coffee I want like three a day now please and thank you
What I am looking forward to: meeting her 🙂
Upcoming appointments/events: 01/15 – bi-weekly appointments
Weekly Wisdom: If you cannot sleep and you’re worrying about something you can control (i.e. my car seat Sunday night) go ahead and do the thing stressing you. Otherwise you will lay in bed stressing and not sleeping. If you accomplish your worry, maybe you can sleep. Maybe.
Milestones: I’m feeling ready for labor. I’m not actually ready and have no desire for her to come early, but physically I feel like my body is gearing up. #toosoon
